Ladies in Retirement

Ladies in Retirement isn't the most exciting title a movie ever had, but don't let that fool you. There are plenty of dark doings in this spooky 1941 melodrama.

The story takes place in a country house belonging to a retired music-hall actress who lives there with her housekeeper, and her maid. Things get shaken up when she receives a letter demanding that her two sisters, be removed from the London house where they've been living, because their behavior has been too scandalous

With a corpse, some Gilbert & Sullivan on the piano, and embezzlement, the grizzly plot thickens rapidly.

Dare you watch it? Will your nerves stand it?
